Getting Started

The role of Church Coordinator is among the most important in making MWLTC successful. We want to make the work of being a church coordinator as easy and productive as possible. To that end, this page is intended to be the one place where church coordinators can get the information they need.

If you have suggestions on what else should go here, please let us know at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Please get into the habit of checking your email regularly. This is particularly important in the two months or so before convention. In the last couple of weeks before convention, checking your email at least once daily is very helpful.

Getting Started

So, you're the Church Coordinator for your congregation. Now what?!

We strongly recommend that all Church Coordinators take a look at the Church Coordinator's Guide (MS Word, PDF formats). This should be helpful to new Church Coordinators to get started and to experienced Church Coordinators who would like to become more effective.

Additional Next Steps

Request a church coordinator account in the online registration system. Be sure to give us an email address that you check regularly. (This is necessary, even if you were a church coordinator for the previous year of MWLTC.)

Download the 2010 Student / Team Registration Forms (MS Word and PDF formats). These forms are also included near the end of the church coordinator guide.  These forms may be useful tools for to gather information from the students at your congregation. NOTE: The documents have not been updated for 2011. We expect to have them updated by Sep 15, 2010.

Become familiar with the MWLTC 2010 Event Rules (see the menu system at the top of this web page). Students at your congregation may have questions about various events. Church coordinators are not expected to know all the answers, but knowing where the rules are can be very helpful.

Save a copy of the MWLTC 2011 deadlines. These deadlines apply to students, church coordinators, and observers.

Talk to your congregation about MWLTC (or ask someone in your church leadership to). Encourage people to self-register online as observers. Just visit www.mwltc.org and follow the links for Observer Registration.

Encourage high school students that are participating in MWLTC to apply for scholarshipsNOTE: The documents have not been updated for 2011. We expect to have them updated by Sep 15, 2010.
