Each regional LTC has its own personality and regional interests. Each one also unique from the others because of the location, the people involved, the various congregations participating, and many other factors. Because of this, different LTC's will often feature different events in which the students can participate. Many of the LTCs have several in common though.
At Midwest LTC, we have three distinctly different types of events.
- Pre-Convention Events (list) are those in which students finish their projects or activities prior to convention, mail them into MWLTC, and have their efforts evaluated based on a set of criteria (shown on a judging form).
- Challenge Events (list) are similar to Pre-Convention Events in that they are finished prior to convention. However, the results are typically some type of report. There is no "evaluation" criteria. Rather, students earn a medal based on how much they did in the events (e.g. number of service projects).
- Convention Events (list) are those in which students present their projects or performance at convention. Their efforts are evaluated at convention based on a set of criteria (shown on a judging form).
A brief description of each of these events is below. Detailed rules and judging criteria for each event can be found in the Event Rules menu at the top of this page.
