The Midwest convention was first hosted by the Alto Road church of Christ in Kokomo, Indiana, and the Green Valley church of Christ in Noblesville, Indiana, in 1996. Since that time, the Elmwood church of Christ, Lafayette, Indiana, has come on board as a host, and we have experienced tremendous growth in both student participation and congregations represented. In 2008, we had nearly 1000 people attend the annual convention from 7 states and over 27 different congregations.
LTC (Leadership Training for Christ) is a program designed to encourage young people to actively participate in numerous events and activities in order to build up their faith and expand their "comfort zone". It encourages them to try new things they perhaps would not have normally been able to try.
Annual Easter weekend conventions are held in numerous areas around the country. The Midwest convention has grown in participation to the point that we moved from our host church facilities to the convention centers in 2001. Since 2005, the annual convention has been held at the Marriott East of Indianapolis, Indiana.
